“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.”
~ 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (ESV)
“Men what are you doing for an everlasting legacy for Christ? Fathers in the Field is the perfect venue to do that. You can help to heal a fatherless boy, to alter his life by imitating Christ and mattering greatly in his life.” ~ MF George Hosford
George Hosford’s father abandoned the family when he was five years old. Life without his father was difficult, but God blessed him with godly men who stepped into his life. The Lord has richly blessed him and when heard about our ministry to the fatherless his only question was “how can I help?”
“Listening to the presentation of Fathers in the Field left me in tears. I’m not an emotional guy, but I remember the pain of going to events that required a dad and not having one. Of crying myself to sleep. The pain, the fear, the uncertainty.
“Here is a ministry that takes the passions men have for life and Christ and gives them the tools to help a fatherless boy.
“Kamdyn has a great love for Christ and does a great job of explaining his relationship with God. When we first started, he was introverted and quiet.
“He told me it was because he was nervous and didn’t know what to expect from me. I laughed and told him I was nervous too, but that God had done a great job of bringing us together. God has blessed me with Kamdyn. I feel like he blesses me more than I bless him.
“When guys ask me about the ministry, I tell them to imitate Christ by caring for the fatherless and you will be blessed beyond what you can imagine.”
George is a faithful financial supporter, lead Church Champion and a Mentor Father. His Field Buddy Kamdyn’s mom searched for over a year to find a man to mentor her son. She came across our ministry on the website for New City Church in Syracuse City Utah. It was an answer to her prayers.
As George related her search, he made a comment that highlights the need of so many single mothers across the country. “There are so many single mothers/grandmothers out there looking for us. Looking for godly men to help their boys. May we not give up on looking for them.”
