It was with great joy that Fathers in the Field was able to thank Chuck and Marcia Raches of Bozeman, Montana for their 9 years of service. Chuck served as the Church Champion for Springhill Presbyterian church from 2009-2017. In September of this year we presented the Defender of the Fatherless honor to them as a small token of our gratitude. Here is their story.

In 2009 Fathers in the Field co-founding servant Scott Macnaughton presented the ministry to a Bible study at Springhill Presbyterian’s legacy campus. Scott eloquently explained how the ministry takes a man’s love for hunting and the outdoors to help heal the broken heart of a fatherless boy.  The men in attendance agreed this was the perfect ministry for Chuck and connected Scott to him. This led to conversations between Scott, Chuck and me to help Chuck truly understand what the ministry was created to do. Chuck recalled “After speaking with Scott and John I knew this was a ministry for me. Being 75 I felt I was too old to be a Mentor Father, but knew I could be a Church Champion and help other men invest in fatherless boys.”

Chuck is an inspiration to me and to countless other men and fatherless boys whose lives he helped to change. We need more men like Chuck who won’t let anything stop them from being a voice for the fatherless. In short we need more heroes….will you be a defender of the fatherless?

Contact me today and let’s work together to help heal the broken hearts of the fatherless boys in our wonderful country.
