Defending the Cause: Thankful for What?

“My dad is gone, my family is broken and we’re too poor to even have a turkey dinner.”

It’s a Thanksgiving tradition in most homes to sit around and say what we are thankful for.

Yet 50% of children in America won’t see their dad this Thanksgiving. Additionally they live in or near poverty and likely won’t have a traditional thanksgiving meal unless they go to the food pantry or shelter nearest to them.

In this sad circumstance, Satan brings in despair, anger and hopelessness that he might keep the healing message of Christ out of reach. Fathers in the Field equips local churches and their men to dive into this battle and bring the hope of God directly to these fatherless children and their families.  Love in Action!

Faith. Fatherhood. Forgiveness. The banners flown by the Champions involved in Fathers in the Field ministry.

For Field Buddies across this vast country, they have something to say they are thankful for this Thanksgiving.

“I am thankful for the written commitment made by my Mentor Father.”

“I am thankful for the opportunity to serve others. That widow needed me, actually needed me! I have value and purpose.”

“I am thankful for my church who teaches me about the love of my Heavenly Father. He will never leave me!”

“I am thankful for God providing a Christian man to lead me through life and teach me how to honor God in all I do. To help me learn to forgive my earthly father.”

“I am thankful for all the faithful supporters of Fathers in the Field. Without them I would never have the blessing of a Mentor Father.”

Every picture here represents a commitment fulfilled and an opportunity for a fatherless boy to experience thankfulness.
