Defending the Cause: The Many Faces of Generosity

“The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered.”
Proverbs 11:25 (NAS)

“Fathers in the Field’s mission and purpose is to care deeply for the fatherless and the widow. It equips men to invest in the lives of fatherless boys who in turn help these boys to invest in the lives of widows. This ministry is invaluable, which is why my wife and I continue to give to the ministry. We know that our financial gift is being put to good use.”

– Daniel Cole
(Financial Supporter and Mentor Father)

Daniel Cole’s Field Buddy Bruce was just 7 years old when they signed their Intentional Commitment.

A commitment to meet a minimum of four times each month: 2 times to attend church together, 1 time to serve a widow together and 1 time to get out into God’s creation and discuss forgiveness of an earthly father who had abandon Bruce.

Daniel committed to giving generously to Field Buddy Bruce through his time and experience that he might be a role model for what it means to follow Jesus Christ in every aspect of life – to help Bruce learn to give generously to the widows in his community and to help him find healing through forgiveness.

He is also a faithful Supporter of our ministry. Additionally, Daniel continues to help other people join us in helping these precious boys through financial support.

Why is he so committed to helping?

“These boys need a male role model to teach them to forgive, to help them heal while they forgive and to eventually to turn their lives over to Christ. I’ve watched Bruce turn his entire life around. The whole experience was extremely rewarding, even with the struggles. It’s a privilege to financially support Fathers in the Field, so much so that we never miss a month because we see the value of this ministry.”

It’s humbling and encouraging for me to hear the testimony of our supporters. God called me to start this ministry to help heal the broken hearts of fatherless boys and then has called others alongside me to help insure this ministry does just that.  Praise Jesus.

Please join us in helping to change the lives of the 12 million fatherless boys in this great, but hurting country.
